What's in the Fashion Logo Designs of Some Famous Apparel Designing Companies?

http://worldfamousfashiondesign.blogspot.com/Every journey starts with the first step and it's important to take the first step in the right direction. If you are planning to design a fashion company logo for a start-up apparel designing business, the first step ought to review the logos of important brands in the market to see the trend. I won't suggest you to copy those logos - it's simply not an option. Instead, you ought to look for something that such logos are missing, for common features in their emblems, fonts and colors, for the one that stands out among all, and for the outstanding features of the best logo that make it the best.

If it sounds confusing to you, let me explain it with examples. Let's suppose the logo you are planning to make is for a fashion clothing company. So here is a review of some famous apparel brands' logos to get started with.

Gucci: A simple black and white logo with two Gs hugging each other. It actually symbolizes the two initials of Guccio Gucci, the founder of the brand. Its simplicity makes it easy to remember - the reason why this logo is so popular among masses. Also, it's flexible in use - you can put it easily anywhere from paper to clothes and it's so small that Gucci has even used it on its belt buckles and watches. However, you can't find anything in particular in it that reminds you of clothing, may be because Gucci has gone beyond apparel designing.

Giorgio Armani: Another black and white letter emblem with a rounded G and a curved A letter joining together. It's really simple yet stylish, in particular the way A has been joined with G. Again, it's easy to use and remember and is a powerful communicator. This is my personal opinion, but I like this emblem more than Gucci, because it looks more stylish and elegant to me.

Tommy Hilfiger: It is again a letter logo but with a little modification. The logo is colored and the horizontal letter H is shown. The red and white zones sandwiched between the blue strips were actually taken from "International Code of Signals" saying "I have a pilot on board." I like the idea but not the design. There is no delicacy in the emblem, which is required for a fashion symbol, and, then, the colors have no contrast at all.

Seeing all this, I can conclude that you need to come up with a delicate design and if your company is specifically a fashion clothing company, go for something that reminds the viewer of stylish clothes. Choose black & white fashion logo designs and even if you want to add in some colors, go for simple and contrasting shades.

The Four Fashion Capitals of the World

http://worldfamousfashiondesign.blogspot.com/As with many things, location is a key factor in the success or failure of a model. Proximity to jobs means you can get there faster and cheaper, and in the fast moving fashion industry, quick turnaround is often a deal breaker. You should always put yourself where the action is. As a general rule, big cities offer many more opportunities than smaller places, as the clients and agencies are concentrated there.

There are four major fashion capitals in the world: London, Milan, New York and Paris.

London

London has a long history as a trendsetter and leader in world fashion, and in recent years has been named as the number 1 fashion capital of the world thanks to the ascendency of Kate Middleton and the London Olympics. The vast majority of the international modelling agencies have their main UK offices in London and it is the base for hundreds of fashion photography studios and the supporting teams, including the best photographers for glossy magazines.

London's fashion hub is located in Soho, in the centre of the city between Oxford Street and Picadilly Circus. This area is full of trendy shops and bars and has a bustling cosmopolitan atmosphere.

The major modelling agencies are mostly based in Central London, around South Kensington and Leicester Square, including: Elite, Storm, Premier Model Management, Models 1, BMA Models and Next Models.

Milan

In 2009 Milan was declared the top economic and media capital of fashion. There are a great many world famous Italian fashion brands which have their main headquarters located in the city, including: Valentino, Gucci, Versace, Prada, Armani and Dolce & Gabbana. Milan Fashion Week is held twice a year and is one of the Holy Grails for catwalk models.

New York

The only recognised fashion capital outside of Europe, New York is a metropolitan city that never sleeps and is home to the cutting edge of innovation is style and culture. New York Fashion Week, branded Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek in 2009 is held in February and September every year - and was originally the first ever fashion 'week'.

Paris

Paris has a long standing history as a centre of art and fashion and is home to several prestigious fashion houses. It is known for the classic timeless elegance of the designs that are born there. It has an up market high fashion shopping district where all the most exclusive labels can be found.

Jason Cole is a writer specialising in the fashion, modelling and media. I bring you the latest from the UK's modelling scene, focussing on big names like Capri Models and Premier Models. Capri Models is not a modelling agency but prepare models for the industry.

Italian Fashion - Its Intriguing Roots

http://worldfamousfashiondesign.blogspot.com/The amazing Italian designers of today have a longstanding tradition and history going back a thousand years. The Venetian traders from the 12th century brought back luxurious fabrics, beading and other innovative trends that were a revelation to fashion in Western Europe.

Marco Polo was among these early explorers to bring a taste of the east to then-modern Europe. Silk, in particular, was a coveted material worn by the wealthy wives of Venetian merchants. The courtesans were also colorfully dressed, helping to end the drab and never-ending Dark Ages.

Some of these trends copied eastern clothing patterns. Jewelry and cosmetics also became a fashion standard for the upper class. Over 500 years time, the cities of Venice, Florence and Milan were known as the most trendsetting fashion leaders in Europe. Other important centers included Bologna, Genoa (where Christopher Columbus' father worked as a weaver), Turin, and Naples in the far south.

St. Francis of Assisi was a nobleman before he went to serve the Church. He and his family were among the well-dressed citizens of Assisi, and his friend and "fiance" Saint Claire were also among the very well dressed upper class. Clothes made the man or woman, and exotic fabrics defined both class and success.

During Renaissance times, fashion was king. In Italy, the renaissance began at least 150 years earlier than the British Isles, around 1400. Linked by sea transport, Italy had ready access to the Silk Road, Egyptian cotton, trade and communication. In those days fashion was a luxury, and not intended for the common man. The royalty, nobles and wealthy landowners bought fashionable attire for themselves, their families and their courtesans. The famous Medici family of Florence is well known for their elaborate attire especially Catherine, who wore exquisite creations which would be hard to duplicate today.

Italian fashion took a backseat for a time; with French fashion houses becoming the leader in new designs. King Louis XIV took control of all luxury goods being brought into France. The "fashion season" was originated during his reign in the 1670s, with the introduction of elaborate fashion for both sexes and the wearing of extravagant curled wigs which was to compensate for his premature balding.

Henceforth, from the 17th century to 1950, French hate couture was considered creme DE la creme. Fashion Models were introduced, historically poor to average standing young women who would be dressed up according to the newest fashions and sent out to visit potential clientele. The word model stuck, and to this day they are called fashion models, but with the lifestyle of celebrities, not simply unknown mannequins. The runway model has a similar experience to the "model" of the past.

Historically, the elaborate fashion sprees of Marie Antoinette were among the factors that created great tension among the poor. As we all can recall, she was famous for saying "let them eat cake" when the Parisian poor were left with no bread to eat. This rich - poor imbalance was among the primary reasons for the French Revolution.

From the 1950s until today, Italy managed to regain and retain its position as the leading fashion trendsetting authority in the entire world.

Jacksonian.com, an online retailer of fine gentleman's accessories stocks a range of Italian neckties, along with leather goods, cufflinks and shaving sets.
